The Southern Cross "Alpha Crusis" |
| This guitar was about 10 years in the making. It is basically
everything that I ever wanted in a guitar. The guitar is designed after a
Fender Telecaster. The body is actually two pieces. The back and sides
being Swamp Ash and the Top AAA Flamed Maple. It is also a hollow body
electric guitar. The neck is a two piece AAA Birdseye maple. The neck is a
two piece to allow a bit more slack in the Floyd Rose.
The pickups are Lace Sensors the Humbucker is a Lace Sensor Duly Red/Purple and the single coil is a Lace Sensor Blue. I later changed the pickups to a Dimarzio PAF PRO in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Little 57 in the neck. The Humbucker is tapped with the volume knob allowing only the Red coil to be active. The controls are set back behind the lower F hole to keep them out of my way. The pick up selector is a Les Paul style switch. The bridge is a Floyd Rose Original. Tuning keys are Mini Grover locking tuners. Also the guitar has Schaller locking strap buttons. Other unique features is the clear control cavity cover and the clear back plate. Also the original serial number of 2+2=5. The bridge is set low so there is no back swing on it. Also the custom star inlays in the neck created by Paul Bordeaux. The stars are mother of pearl with black acrylic outlines. |
