Debt. Album Kit

 I don't know much about this drum kit. This is the kit that Butch used on the S/T album era. Butch has been using this drum kit for when playing shows with the Know It All Boyfriends.

Version 2.0 Tour Kit

During the Version 2.0 tour Butch had a beautiful Pearl white drum kit. During the Version 2.0 tour Butch had Plexiglas shields in front of his cymbals. There was wide speculation as to what the function of the shields were for. They are used to limit the high end bleeding into Shirley's vocal mic thus making a cleaner mix for the live show. Contrary to popular belief there are only two mics on Butch's kit. They are overheads for his cymbals. In fact it has been reported that there are only three mics on Garbage's stage. The two on Butch's drum kit and Shirley's vocal mic. Everything else is direct to the sound board.
 

Beautiful Garbage Kit

The Beautiful Garbage drum kit was a really pretty color. I have been told that the color of the kit was a combination of the black kit, the Version 2.0 kit, and the red from the BG album cover. The color seemed to be a transparent red with black tint over a pearly white undercoat.

Drum Sticks

Pro-Mark American Hickory 5A Natural. For the Version 2.0 tour Butch had Pro Mark make him some custom "Orange" drum sticks. He did the same for the Beautiful Garbage tour except the sticks were printed in red. These are actual  drumsticks that Butch uses on stage. They are not promotional items. Butch does not give out his drumsticks from the stage very often.

Pictured to the right are Butch's sticks from all three tours. The sticks are from my personal collection. The bottom pair are the rarest set I have they were used on the 95-96 tours. Above them are the Version 2.0 sticks then the Beautiful Garbage sticks. 

Center Stage Tech "T"

Meet "T" he is Butch's drum tech and is frequently seen escorting Shirley around the venue. T has been with Garbage since the first tour. The picture to the left was taken at the hotel in Dallas when Garbage was touring with No Doubt in 2002. He also gave me the BG drumsticks at a show in Dallas in May of 2002. He is really nice and will talk to fans if he is not working.
